Meet the man behind Callophrys Tree Consultancy
With a BSc (Hons) in Zoology from the University of Glasgow, a MSc in Applied Entomology from the Scottish Agricultural College and a Ph.D. in Entomology from the University of Birmingham, Stuart brings a unique perspective to Callophrys Tree Consultancy. He has gained considerable industry experience with more than 20 years of experience with The Scottish Wildlife Trust, The Institute of Chartered Foresters and The Scottish Forestry Trust.
He completed the LANTRA Basic and Professional Tree Inspection courses in 2023 and 2024, before setting up Callophrys Tree Consultancy Ltd in the summer of 2024.
Since then Stuart has continued to invest in his own professional development, undertaking a minimum of 30 hours of Continuous Professional Development each year. He qualified as a VALID Tree Assessor, one of only a handful of tree consultants based in Scotland competent to undertake VALID Tree Risk-Benefit Management Assessments.
He is also an Approved Contractor for Savills, Lucion Group and The Camping & Caravanning Club.
Stuart is currently a Trustee for Scottish Finest Woods, the charity (SC294388) responsible for the administration of the prestigious Scottish Finest Woods Awards each year.
